The annual Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Air Show is held in early July each year. Cedar Creek Lake is located in East Texas, between Tyler and Dallas.
Many of the planes taking part in the aerial demonstrations and mock attacks over the lake spent the previous night at Tyler's Pounds Regional Airport. The show has become a large event, with over 40,000 spectators expected for the late afternoon / early evening events, including a Tora Tora Tora reenactment.
As part of the festivities, the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum, located at Pounds, held an open house, both for the planes in the air show, and its regular display of static aircraft.
Shown below are highlights of the day.
