Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star

The Shooting Star was the first U.S. Air Force aircraft to exceed 500 mph in level flight, the first American jet airplane to be manufactured in large quantities, and the first USAF jet to be used in combat.

A major variant of the F-80 was the T-33 Shooting Star, a two-seat trainer version. It remained in production until 1959, after a total of 6,557 were built.

The Canadair CT-133 Silver Star was the Canadian license-built version of the Lockheed T-33.
